The explore workshop is the perfect way to start your students’ dance journey. This workshop is designed to be a taste tester of a cultural dance style and is suitable for all grades.
Explore the different ways that dance is used around the world for celebration, storytelling, worship and more, shared and demonstrated by world-class cultural dance artists. Students will be introduced to many elements in each style including history, traditional postures, hand gestures, facial expressions, and music.

Students get the special experience of working with a world-class artist who will introduce the traditional elements of a dance style including history, postures, hand gestures, facial expressions, and music. In the following sessions, students learn choreography created just for them, that incorporates all the elements they have learned. Even formations and staging are taken care of so that your students are 100% performance-ready.

The create workshops are a full unit that explores a dance style, the elements of dance, and culminates in a student creation.
Students start by learning the traditional elements of a dance style including history, postures, hand gestures, facial expressions, and music. In the following sessions, students are introduced to the five elements of dance and then lead through the creation process in smaller groups to create their own piece. This process is guided by the instructor/artist, who will inspire and motivate your students to feel confident and demonstrate their new learnings.

In this program, students are introduced to four different styles that originate from the same region of the world. They’ll learn the cultural context and basic elements of each style, and then explore the ways in which they connect, differ, and perhaps crossover.
Explore Four is the perfect program for any teacher looking to deepen their students’ understanding of dance, history, and culture.
