I think that the types of programs you are offering present a very important type of cultural affirmation for students, as with my Asian student who "loved her Chinese dance teacher". However, I feel that the affirmation extends to the students outside the specific cultural group to affirm for them, as well, the validity of another person/cultural/race, etc. I feel your programs provide an opportunity to experience and to talk about dance, but also to explore issues of identity, culture and belonging that are so critical to young, growing minds. We need to keep the doors open into each other's worlds and dance is such an exciting key to do that with. I can't thank you enough.
