West African


West African Dance comes from the West African region, commonly referred to as the bulge of Africa. Many dances from this region are reflections of phases of earth, seasons, harvests and life. Primarily percussive, the movements often reflect the rhythms of the music and celebrate individual expression. Some examples are: Djole, Guina Fare, and Mane rhythms are present in festivities whereas Soko, Sinte and Soli are ritual dances. Kassa, Konkoba, Kuku are danced for agriculture activities.
